Snow Fun

We got a decent amount of snow over night and it wasn't too cold this morning so David and Kaylee wanted to go outside and play. We invited their cousin Thomas, who lives across the street and is David's age, and his nanny Leah to come over. We had a lot of fun, and the kids lasted longer than we expected they would. We made a little snow man, and after convincing Kaylee that it was too cold to put on a bathing suit and go swimming, we compromised by putting the little pool at the bottom of the slide and filling it with snow that they would slide into.

Here is the snow man we made. He has cheerio eyes, a carrot nose, and a chex cereal button. (he had a raisin button and a goldfish button but Kaylee ate them while we were setting up the picture) and then decorative cereal pants at the bottom.

I also got around to adding a bunch of recipes to my recipe blog so check them out!

Bad kitty

This is what I woke up to this morning. But how can you be mad at that face? (This is Kya by the way, and it was almost a full roll of toilet paper)

I have had 2 snow days in a row this week...I wish I had been in school during Dr. Hamilton's superintendency. This is our fourth snow day this year I think. I miss the kids though, since last week was mid winter break and they were in Florida. Hopefully I'll get to go back tomorrow.

Needless to say, with all this free time the house is quite clean. We actually spent part of Sturday organizing a lot of things around the house, which was fun. I haven't found a good system in the kitchen yet for everything so we've been switching things around quite a bit.

Ok, kitties want to play!

Happy Birthday

Happy 8th Birthday to Adam...I can't believe you're 8 already!!!!

A day with Cam

I have the week off of work, and Eric took the day off to hang out, and Sam's house was having some work done and it was really dusty so we got to spend the day with the world's cutest baby!
Since people keep asking and I haven't posted about him in awhile, he's doing great. 8 months old, crawling like a pro, and he pulls himself up on everything. He loves to stand, and is a generally cheerful little guy. He has 4 teeth, two on the top and two on the bottom, and they make him look like such a little boy! He could so be a Gap ad baby!

We're going to need a bigger bed...

Eric took some overtime at work today and had to be in early. Its a little sad to wake up alone on the weekend, but that was definitely not the case this morning:

Not our easiest request

A picture of all 5 cats is much easier said than done. They're not looking but they're all there.

Kya is on the very top, Kiara on the top left, Max on the top right, Zoe in the middle, and Ian on the bottom.

They're all getting along great!

Youtube and comments

We've been adding videos of the cats to our youtube account, there are some cute ones, check them out! When I remember how, I'll add a link to the side bar.

We've also heard from a lot of people that have said they want to leave comments but aren't sure how. So, here's what you do:

Click on comments on the bottom of the entry. Type in the comment you want to leave, and then where it says 'choose an identity', check either the box that says nickname, and put in your name, or check anonymous, but if you do that make sure you sign your name in the comment box so we know who you are!

Hopefully that was explained well enough.  :-)

Another kitty update

We decided to name the rescued kitty Kiara. (from the Lion King). She has such a wild look, it fits her. She is such a sweet heart! She was supposed to stay quarantined until Thursday, but on Tuesday night she decided she'd had enough of being locked up, and made herself at home in the rest of the house. The boys hissed and growled for about a minute, and followed her around sniffing her for a few minutes after that, and then all of a sudden, everything returned to normal.
They all get along so well, they're already
grooming each other and sleeping in a big pile on my lap together. We got really lucky with her. She's getting better at jumping, and has gotten the hang of playing. She likes to carry a straw around the house, just like Max does!

This was them laying on my lap last night. Max on the left, Ian in the middle, and Kiara on the right.

I finally figured out how to put videos up on youtube, so here is the link.

Also, we heard from our breeder, and get to go pick up the kittens tomorrow! Kiara has a follow up appointment at the vet to make sure her worms are gone and that she's still healthy, and the boys have their every 6 month check up so we'll all have a clean bill of health before we bring the kittens home.

I had a snow day today, so I enjoyed sleeping in a little bit. Unfortunately, Eric's schedule has gotten even crazier..I'll have him post about that, so I don't really get to see him in the mornings anymore. But he still gets to come home for his lunch break, and at nights, so I'll take what I can get. The kitty companions keep me occupied during the day and help me do the housework. (especially the cooking)

Also, Happy 19th birthday Janelle!!!
